Proposed Route Home

Big news:
My mate Andy will be flying out from the States in November to join me for an Aussie adventure. After a couple weeks of exploiting opportunities here, we're going to fly to Adelaide, then drive from there to Sydney. More to come on that later.

For now, I'll show you the basic proposed route:

Sadly, scarce time will be the most limiting factor. We reach Adelaide on 3 Dec and must depart Sydney on 11 Dec. As it stands that gives us limited time to make the trip (and hit Kosciusko, which I can't leave Oz without climbing). I might have to make a return trip to Oz to drop in on the home of Boag's.

As for your question about the antipodal of innocent, an honest appraisal of the behavior of myself and my peers (and a sense of mischief) leads me to suggest that the furthest one can be from being an innocent abroad is to be a student abroad.
